Auto Show

From classic American muscle to exotic Italian street machines, there’s something for everybody to gawk at. Come see machines you, your dad and his dad dream about. We’ll parade them through the festival ground and watch (and listen) as they rev up on the mobile Dyno and compete for Best-In-Show.

Go Wheels Up! Texas has been postponed.
Our joint statement with the AOPA:

Given the rapidly evolving situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) recommendation to avoid large gatherings, and out of an abundance of caution for our members, attendees, vendors, and staff, Go Wheels Up! Texas and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) have decided to indefinitely postpone Go Wheels Up! Texas and the AOPA Fly-In scheduled for May 29 and 30 in San Marcos, Texas.

Go Wheels Up! Texas and AOPA will be working together to consider an alternate date to hold the co-located event either later in 2020 or in 2021.

Unfortunately, with the growing concern over a widespread outbreak, AOPA and Go Wheels Up! Texas believe we all must do our part to contain the virus by limiting travel and interactions to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure and potential strain on the healthcare system.

Purchased tickets will be honored on the new date. If you would like a refund, please email tickets@gowheelsup.live.

Lamborghinis, Ferraris, etc along with a few race cars from Circuit of The Americas and anything else we see fit for really what should be the main attraction of the Auto Show. TEXAS TIME TRAVELING MACHINE

The second area will be a walk through time from the earliest cars we can find to the latest. We are calling this area “Cory Morrows Texas Time Traveling Machine.” The idea here is to have a walk through of the history or the automobile from the first examples we can find through each decade – showing off some of the most unique and original examples of these vehicles. The cars will be arranged in a manner that you get the feeling that you are walking down a ‘street’ with cars on both sides of you and will weave through the space provided. This will give everyone something to look at that they enjoy, regardless of what vehicle they really want to see.

JUST ALONG FOR THE RIDE

The third area will be a general car show. We are calling this area “Just Along For The Ride.” Here we will have the nicest examples of a regular Friday night car show, except this isn’t your local Pep Boys parking lot! These cars will be nice, clean, high horsepower, pro touring style, rare, or anything else that catches our eye. We are looking for the cars that only get to come out of the garage once or twice a year because they are that nice/rare.

Go Wheels Up!

Frequently Asked Questions

What Happens If It Rains?

Go Wheels Up! Is a rain or shine event… to an extent. If it rains too heavily or the weather is just too bad for us to put on the event, we will refund tickets. However, we will make every effort to put on a fantastic event no matter what Mother Nature throws at us.

Are masks required?

Per state and local guidelines, because this is an outdoor event, masks are not required.

Can I bring my dog?
We love our dogs as much as you love yours, but unfortunately, other than registered service animals, we can’t allow dogs on the field. (Even if Penelope the Pooch is the best doggo in the world, airshows are LOUD and there are lots of spinning propellers…)
Can I fly my aircraft in?

Absolutely. While we are not a “fly-in” this year, you are welcome to fly your aircraft into KHYI to visit Go Wheels Up. For notams and ground procedures, please click here.

Can I bring my RV or travel trailer?

Yes! You can bring your RV or travel trailer to Go Wheels Up! We will have designated free parking, but please be advised of the following:

    • No services will be provided
    • Unlimited use of your generator is allowed
    • NO DUMPING
    • Please leave your parking area in at least as good a condition as you found it
    • Overnight security will be onsite Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, but stay at your own risk. Go Wheels Up! Texas is not responsible for lost or stolen property
    • To be eligible to stay, please fill out this form and return it to info@gowheelsup.live or bring it with you to the event
Can I bring my golf cart?
While you will see golf carts on the festival grounds, these will be exclusively for our staff and volunteers. Use of personal golf carts is not allowed inside the boundaries of our event. If you travel with a golf cart, you may use your cart with extreme caution to get from your RV to the entry gate. We will provide designated parking near the entry gate.

If you have mobility issues, we will make every effort to accommodate your needs. Please email us at info@gowheelsup.live and let us know you’re coming. We will do our best to make your visit fun and comfortable.

Can I bring my own chairs?
Absolutely! While there will be limited seating available in the VIP area, no seating will be provided for general admission. Feel free to bring a folding chair and find a comfy spot on the tarmac to watch the show.
Can I bring outside food or drinks?
Unfortunately, no. Other than water in unopened containers, which we’re allowing because of the time of year and the Texas heat that comes along with it, we cannot allow outside food or drink. There will be plenty of vendors on the field to accommodate and it is against the law for us to allow any outside alcoholic beverages onto the festival grounds.
What else can I bring?

Please read our What to Bring Page for more information.

Will there be alcohol served at the event?

Yes. Alcoholic beverages will be served at several bars located throughout the event space. Please drink responsibly.

How do I become a vendor at the event?

Thank you for your interest, but vendor registration is closed for 2021. Look for information about becoming a vendor in 2022 soon!

Are my tickets transferable?
Yes. If you buy tickets and are not able to attend, feel free to sell them or give them away. However, conversely, please only purchase from our website or someone you trust. There have been a lot of posts on our facebook page from people trying to sell illegitimate tickets by claiming they bought tickets but can’t go. This is a scam.
Is Go Wheels Up supporting any charities?
We’re glad you asked! Yes. Go Wheels Up is pledged to give a portion of net profits to three local charities: The San Marcos Youth Council, The San Marcos Education Foundation and the Commemorative Air Force Central Texas Wing.
Can I enter my car in the car show?

Yes you can! Please visit the registration page and follow the instructions there.

Can I display my plane at Go Wheels Up?

If you’d like to offer an aircraft for static display, please contact Clayton Corn at clayton@vast.events with what you have in mind.

Can I fly in the airshow?

All of our airshow performers are professional pilots and contracted specifically for this event. If you qualify, please contact Clayton Corn at clayton@vast.events with details. Our show this year is fully scheduled, but there may be space in subsequent years and we’d love to know what you do.

How Much Is It To Enter The Car Show?

The car show entry fee is $100 and includes one two-day general admission ticket. Companion passes and VIP upgrades are also available. Please visit the Auto Show page for more information

Why is the car show $100 to enter?

The simplest answer is that this isn’t an ordinary car show. What we are putting on the field is a high-energy, multi-day event that is very expensive to produce. We aren’t simply throwing up fencing and port-o-potties. We, as a company, produce high-level events. For your $100, you get $52 worth of GA admission tickets, two days of extraordinary entertainment, and you get to compete for some great prizes. We understand that we are more expensive than other car events in the area, but we fully believe that once you attend, you’ll ‘get it’ and want to come back year after year.

If I purchase a VIP ticket, can my kids come into the VIP area with me?

Of course! Kids can enter the VIP area with their parents at no additional charge. Kids 11 and under are free, 12-16 are $15 for the entire weekend.

B-17 TEXAS RAIDERS

It has been 70 years since the last B-17 lifted into the air during WWII to join the largest air armada ever to fill the skies, but on Friday May 3 the four giant Wright-Cyclone engines of Texas Raiders, a fully restored B-17 Flying Fortress will be roaring over San Marcos, TX. Of the 12,731 B-17s built across during WWII, only 9 are actively flying—including Texas Raiders, which is part of the Commemorative Air Force.
